A total of 17 family members of suspected Boko Haram fighters have surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in separate operations in Borno State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the the Acting Military Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Muhammed Goni, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to him, 16 of the family members surrendered in Konduga Local Government Area, while one 11-year-old surrendered in Bama Local Government Area on August 4.
Goni said the surrendered individuals are currently in military custody, where they are undergoing preliminary profiling and debriefing.
He explained that the first group, made up of 10 women and six children, voluntarily surrendered to troops of the 222 Battalion during a patrol along the Gezuwa axis in Konduga at about 9:15 a.m.
During questioning, the group reportedly told the troops that sustained military operations against terrorist hideouts influenced their decision to surrender.
The military also recovered ₦92,000 from the group during the process.
In a separate incident at about 12:04 p.m. the same day, an 11-year-old family member linked to Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) voluntarily surrendered to troops of the 202 Battalion under Sector 1 in Bama Local Government Area.
The military said the latest surrenders reflect the continued impact of ongoing offensive operations against terrorist groups in the North-East.
