EKO HOT BLOG reports that NATOP’s South West Vice President, Ambassador Anago-Osho, and General Secretary, Otunba Michael Balogun, paid a courtesy visit to both longstanding and newly registered members.
The visit aimed to organize state executives, reinforce NATOP’s mandate, mission, and vision, and support the initiatives of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, under the leadership of Director General Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre.
The bureau was created in August 2023 by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, who has shown a strong commitment to advancing tourism.
His dedication was evident during NATOP’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in July 2023, which marked a period of notable growth in Ekiti’s tourism sector.
As part of the “DISCOVER EKITI” initiative, Michael Peculiar Ekiran, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism Development, introduced six exciting tour packages and destinations during the NATOP Ekiti AGM.
The government of Ekiti State deserves commendation for its continued efforts in tourism promotion and development.
The UN tourism stakeholders’ engagement with private sectors in the tourism industry in Ekiti was a success.
Marcel Leijzer, UN tourism deputy Director (technical cooperation and silk development), was impressed with the showcased sites, calling Ekiti State “a good place to live” and noting that “a good place to live is a good place to visit.”
