Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Oloja and Paramount Ruler of Epe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun (Arolugbade Elepe II), to strengthen collaboration in the fight against drug abuse and other social vices.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the visit highlighted the importance of fostering stronger partnerships between security agencies and traditional institutions in promoting peace, security, and sustainable community development across Epe Division.
Receiving the delegation, Oba Animashaun, who is also the Chairman of the Epe Division Council of Obas and Chiefs, reaffirmed the commitment of the traditional institution to supporting initiatives aimed at protecting lives, promoting social harmony, and ensuring a safer society.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss community-based strategies for tackling drug abuse, criminality, and other societal challenges through grassroots sensitisation and active community participation.
“The fight against drug abuse and crime requires the collective efforts of government, security agencies, traditional rulers, and members of the community. We must continue to work together to safeguard the future of our youths and our communities,” the monarch said.
The NDLEA officials commended the royal father for his unwavering support for security and community development initiatives, reaffirming the agency’s readiness to work closely with traditional leaders to strengthen public awareness and curb drug-related offences.
The visit further underscored the vital role of traditional institutions in supporting law enforcement agencies and mobilising communities toward building a peaceful, secure, and drug-free Epe Division.
