The Federal Government has confirmed plans to evacuate Nigerian nationals wishing to leave Iran as tensions escalate in the Middle East, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), announced that officials at the Nigerian Embassy in Tehran are coordinating the evacuation and providing assistance to those seeking to depart.

Those leaving Iran are being escorted to the Armenian border, where arrangements have been made to ensure their safe passage out of the country.

Dabiri-Erewa emphasised that no Nigerian has been harmed since the hostilities began and that embassy officials remain stationed at the border to support evacuees.
She said:
“Willing Nigerians are being escorted across the Armenian border by officials of the Nigerian Embassy in Iran to ensure safe passage. No Nigerian in Iran has been affected by the war, as our officials are at the border to receive everyone who wants to leave.”
