In the letter, the President said the submission complied with relevant constitutional provisions and aligns with the Federal Government’s fiscal and development policies.
He added that the proposal also reflects the key assumptions of the 2026 national appropriation framework and the 2025–2028 Economic Recovery and Growth Plan.

According to the President, the budget prioritises critical sectors including healthcare, job creation, youth empowerment, social welfare, education, infrastructure and agriculture.
Tinubu said the focus on these sectors is aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting sustainable development in the Federal Capital Territory.
“The budget proposal has been prepared based on facts, revenue and expenditure forecasts, and it aligns with the fiscal and developmental policies of the federal government,” the letter stated.
He also urged the House of Representatives to give the budget proposal prompt consideration to enable the implementation of development programmes in the nation’s capital.
