EKO HOT BLOG reports that Trump, in a post shared on his Truth Social platform, claimed he had directed the U.S. Department of War to “prepare for possible action” if killings of Christians persisted. He also warned that the U.S. could suspend all aid to Nigeria if the government failed to act.
Meanwhile, fierce clashes erupted on Sunday between Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State, leaving more than 50 fighters dead. The violent encounter occurred at Toumbun Gini, an island in Abadam Local Government Area, after ISWAP launched an attack to reclaim territory from Boko Haram.
Sources confirmed that Boko Haram forces ambushed ISWAP gunmen using prior intelligence, resulting in heavy casualties and seizure of seven ISWAP boats. The development came hours after troops of Operation Hadin Kai rescued 86 civilians and arrested 29 suspected logistics suppliers in Borno.
In a related operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) carried out precision airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in Borno, Kwara, and Katsina states. NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the strikes destroyed weapons depots, logistics hubs, and several insurgent camps.
He said intelligence-guided attacks neutralised ISWAP elements in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, while additional strikes hit bandit enclaves in Garin Dandi and Chigogo, Kwara State. Ejodame added that air assets under Operation FANSAN YAMMA targeted a terrorist kingpin in Katsina’s Kankara Local Government Area.

Military officials said the intensified operations were part of ongoing efforts to eliminate insurgent threats and restore peace in affected regions.
