The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission Course 29 2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the announcement was made in a statement released on Tuesday through the Nigerian Army’s official X handle. The recruitment exercise is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who possess the required qualifications.
According to the statement, successful applicants will be commissioned into specialised corps of the Nigerian Army, where their professional expertise will be deployed to support national defence and security operations.
The Army stated that the application process is completely free and must be completed online. The application portal will be open from January 7 to February 4 2026.
The available corps include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.
The statement urged interested candidates to apply early and ensure that all required information is accurately provided during the application process.
