EKO HOT BLOG reports that during the recent African Heads of State Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, Vice President Kashim Shettima delivered a forceful message on behalf of President Tinubu.
He emphasized the administration’s unwavering determination to combat economic sabotage that impedes Nigeria’s development.

Against the backdrop of the 21st Replenishment of the International Development Association, Shettima underscored Nigeria’s ambition to position itself as a global powerhouse for outsourcing talent within the digital and creative economy.
He also said the country would achieve this by harnessing the potential of its youthful population.
“Since assuming office, President Tinubu has remained steadfast in fulfilling his promise to end the reign of economic saboteurs who have long exploited and hindered the progress of our nation.
“I am pleased to report that our economy has escaped the phase of sabotage,” the VP noted.
In his address, Shettima emphasized the pivotal role of Nigeria’s youthful population in driving this transformation.
He articulated Tinubu’s vision to leverage the nation’s demographic dividend to propel economic growth and innovation, transcending the challenges posed by economic saboteurs.
Alongside the digital transformation agenda, the VP said Nigeria was committed to prioritising climate resilience and becoming an attractive destination for carbon market investments.
He said, “The tensions resulting from climate-induced disruptions serve as a pressing call to action.
“The profound impact of climate change on our continent’s security underscores our dedication to transforming innovative concepts from conference discussions into tangible actions.
“We aim to become an investment-friendly destination for carbon market investments,” the organ was informed.’’
Furthermore, Shettima provided insights into Tinubu’s comprehensive strategy to combat illicit activities and currency manipulation, which have long impeded Nigeria’s economic advancement.
The administration’s initiatives in digital transformation and climate resilience were also highlighted as cornerstones of its agenda for sustainable development.
Expanding on Nigeria’s economic recovery priorities, Shettima outlined key strategies outlined in Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
These include fostering regional economic integration through instruments such as the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement, aimed at dismantling investment barriers and enhancing access to international markets.
The importance of forging strategic partnerships with other nations and development organizations was emphasized as vital to Nigeria’s path to the future.
Echoing sentiments expressed by Kenyan President William Ruto and World Bank President Ajay Banga, Shettima stressed the urgency of collective action in addressing pressing global challenges.
Ruto drew attention to the escalating geopolitical tensions, deepening development crises, and the urgent climate emergency, underscoring the critical role of the International Development Association in financing Africa’s development and stability.
Shettima reiterated Nigeria’s unwavering belief in the summit’s potential to reflect the collective aspirations and needs of African and IDA countries.
