Senator Tokunbo Abiru Boosts Healthcare Delivery in Lagos East with Ambulances, Medical Supplies

Healthcare services in Ikorodu, Ibeju Lekki, and Ijede received a major boost on Tuesday as three health facilities took delivery of ambulances and essential medical consumables facilitated by Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, who represents Lagos East Senatorial District.
Ekohotblog reports that the handover event took place at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ebute-Metta, with Senator Abiru represented by his Special Adviser on Constituency Matters, Dr. (Otunba) Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle.

The donations were made to Ikorodu General Hospital, Ibeju Lekki General Hospital, and Abule-Eko Primary Health Centre in Ijede.
Present at the event were key medical officials, including FMC Medical Director, Dr. Adedamola Dada; Medical Director of Ibeju Lekki General Hospital, Dr. Ime Okon; Director of Clinical Services at Ikorodu General Hospital, Dr. Kareem Lookman; Assistant Director Clinical Services, Dr. Kehinde Osinaike; and Chief Nursing Officer at Abule-Eko PHC, Patricia Ajani.
Dr. Adedamola Dada, while receiving the items, commended Senator Abiru for his continuous support to the health sector.
“These ambulances and medical supplies will greatly enhance our response to emergencies and improve patient care. We appreciate Senator Abiru’s commitment to the well-being of our people,” he said.
Dr. Ime Okon also lauded the donation, noting, “The Senator’s effort is a clear sign of his dedication to public service. This will improve how we handle critical health cases, especially in rural communities.”
Representing the Senator, Dr. Ibikunle said, “This intervention is part of Senator Abiru’s larger plan to improve the healthcare system in Lagos East. He believes access to quality healthcare should not be a privilege but a right for everyone in our communities.”

Senator Abiru has previously facilitated several health projects, including the rehabilitation of primary health centres at Igbo-Olomu and Ori-Okuta in Ikorodu West LCDA, the construction of Doctor’s Quarters at Labora in Ibeju-Lekki, and 40-bed hospitals at LASUSTECH, Mascara Health Centre, and Isiu in Ikorodu North LCDA.
Other notable attendees at the handover included Hon. (Mrs) Adebimpe Akinsola, Alhaja Sherifat Abiodun Ogunniyi, Mr. Enitan Olukotun (Media Aide to Senator Abiru), Ms. Comfort Olafare (Legislative Assistant), Mr. Abiodun Isikalu, and Mr. Tola Togunde.
