The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has directed its officers to uphold discipline, honesty and professionalism while carrying out their responsibilities, including the protection of Very Important Persons.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by the Corps’ National Public Relations Officer, Afolabi Babawale, from the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to the statement, the Commandant General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, gave the instruction while delivering a keynote address at a three day Leadership and Management Workshop on VIP protection held in the Federal Capital Territory.
The training programme brought together State Commandants, officers in charge of VIP protection units and armourers drawn from various commands across the country.
Prof. Audi described VIP protection as a sensitive national responsibility entrusted to the Corps by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that it must be executed with a high level of professionalism and accountability.
He warned officers against acts capable of undermining the integrity of the assignment, making it clear that misconduct and indiscipline would not be tolerated under his leadership.
The NSCDC boss said any officer found engaging in actions that weaken the effectiveness or credibility of VIP protection duties would face appropriate disciplinary measures.
He added that officers must remain conscious of the fact that their conduct while performing VIP protection duties reflects not only on the Corps but also on the image of the Federal Government.
Prof. Audi further urged personnel to carry out the assignment in a manner that inspires public confidence and reinforces trust in the security architecture of the country.

He emphasised the importance of continuous training, teamwork and adherence to operational guidelines, noting that VIP protection requires alertness, discretion and respect for established rules.
The Commandant General reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to strengthening capacity through regular training programmes aimed at improving service delivery and national security outcomes.
