Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun Set to Celebrate 80th Birthday and 25th Coronation Anniversary in Grand Style

His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, the Oba Oloja of Epe Land, is set to mark a historic double celebration his 80th birthday and 25th coronation anniversary with a week-long series of grand events.
Ekohotblog reports that the festivities, scheduled from Monday, February 17 to Sunday, February 23, 2025, will bring together dignitaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, and well-wishers to honor the revered monarch’s legacy and contributions to Epe Kingdom.

As the Vice Chairman of the
Lagos State Council of Obas and Traditional Chiefs and the chairman paramount ruler of Epe Division, Oba Animashaun has been a pillar of leadership, cultural preservation, and community development.
The anniversary will reflect these values with activities aimed at uplifting the people of Epe and celebrating their rich heritage.
The weeklong celebration will begin on Monday, February 17, with a medical mission at General Hospital, Epe, where free health screenings, consultations, and treatment will be provided.
In addition, palliatives will be distributed to support vulnerable members of the community.
On Tuesday, February 18, an anniversary lecture will be held at Epe Chalet, focusing on the theme, “Leadership, Tradition, and Community Development in Contemporary Society.”
A distinguished speaker will deliver insights on the role of traditional institutions in modern governance.
Wednesday, February 19, is set aside for Traditional Day at the Epe Recreation Ground.
The event will feature a showcase of Epe Kingdom’s cultural heritage, with traditional music, dance, and historical exhibitions highlighting the rich customs of the land.
On Thursday, February 20, honorary chieftaincy titles will be conferred on individuals who have made significant contributions to the community.
The installation ceremony will be followed by a special Jum’ah service.
The celebration will continue on Friday, February 21, with a community-wide event featuring a special Jum’ah service at the central mosque, followed by a grand community day celebration.
Different activities, including a community party, youth empowerment programs, and award presentations to outstanding contributors to Epe’s development, will take place.
The grand finale on Saturday, February 22, at Ogunmodede will be the highlight of the celebration. The day will be marked with an elaborate party, bringing together dignitaries, traditional rulers, and residents for a moment of merriment and appreciation.
The week-long celebration will conclude on Sunday, February 23, with a thanksgiving service at St. Michael Church, where the monarch and the community will offer prayers and gratitude for his reign and continued progress in Epe.
Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun has played a crucial role in Epe’s development, spearheading various projects such as Halice Market, the Alaro City expansion, and improvements in Ogunmodede College.
His leadership has been pivotal in fostering economic progress, cultural preservation, and infrastructural advancements.
