The Kwankwaso Support Group 2027, has floated the idea of a joint presidential ticket featuring former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and ex–Kano State Governor, Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the group’s leader, Abba Gwale, made the call on Friday in Kano, urging Nigerians to rally behind what he described as a strategic alliance capable of addressing the country’s growing challenges.

Gwale said supporters of Senator Kwankwaso believe an Obi–Kwankwaso partnership would offer Nigerians a credible alternative, noting that the proposed ticket cuts across regional and political divides.
“As committed supporters of Senator Kwankwaso, we believe it is important to encourage Nigerians to embrace a joint ticket with Peter Obi, irrespective of the political platform,” he said. “The direction of the country today shows a clear need for a new path.”

He argued that combining Obi’s popularity in the South with Kwankwaso’s strong following in the North would create a broad-based coalition with the capacity to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Gwale, widespread dissatisfaction with issues such as insecurity, hunger and economic hardship is driving public interest in alternative leadership options.
“Nigerians are tired of insecurity, hunger and daily struggle. If this partnership is given the mandate, we are confident the country will witness meaningful improvement,” he added.
Gwale explained that both Obi and Kwankwaso have consistently projected themselves as leaders committed to improving the welfare of ordinary Nigerians, saying their shared outlook makes the alliance attractive to voters seeking change.

He also dismissed reports suggesting that Kwankwaso was demanding extensive political concessions from the APC as a condition for joining the ruling party, describing such claims as unfounded and disrespectful to the former governor’s stature.
According to him, Kwankwaso’s political demands, where applicable, are aimed at addressing the interests of his supporters nationwide, many of whom belong to low-income and grassroots communities.
“As 2027 draws closer, the Obi–Kwankwaso proposal is gaining attention as a serious alternative capable of reshaping Nigeria’s political landscape,” Gwale said, adding that the group is optimistic the alliance could translate growing public support into electoral success.
