Tension continues to trail Tuesday’s confrontation between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and a naval officer identified as A.M. Yarima over a disputed property in Abuja.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Olayinka, in an interview on Wednesday, said subordinates are not obliged to obey every command from their superiors, especially when such directives go against the law.

Olayinka, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Publicity and Communications to the Minister, maintained that only lawful instructions deserve compliance, stressing that military discipline must never override legality

“Not all orders are meant to be obeyed simply because they come from your superior,” he said. “Only lawful orders should be carried out. What happened yesterday shows our poor attitude to compliance, and that’s painful.”
The incident, which was captured in a viral video, occurred when Wike reportedly led officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to halt what he described as an illegal construction project.

However, military personnel guarding the site allegedly resisted the enforcement team, leading to a heated exchange between both parties.
The clash has since sparked reactions across social media, with many Nigerians debating the limits of authority and the rule of law in civil–military relations.
