Police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said officers from the Ogere Division, working with the Ogun State So-Safe Corps, local vigilantes and community members, responded swiftly after receiving credible information about the attack.
According to him, the coordinated operation forced the fleeing suspects to abandon the two stolen motorcycles before escaping into a nearby bush.
He added that sustained efforts led to the arrest of Abdulsalam Adam, who is currently assisting investigators.
Items recovered at the scene included a knife, one expended cartridge and a broken padlock.
In a separate operation, operatives of the Ajuwon Division responded to a distress call over another armed robbery at Baale Akinosi Area, Ajuwon, where gunmen reportedly invaded a residence and carted away mobile phones, jewellery, power banks, a laptop computer, a Toyota Camry and other valuables.
Babaseyi said the division’s Anti-Crime Team immediately launched a coordinated operation.
“On sighting the police, the fleeing hoodlums abandoned the stolen vehicle during a hot pursuit and escaped,” he said.
The command confirmed the arrest of Israel Salako, who is also assisting investigators, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover other stolen items.
The cases have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni commended the officers involved for their prompt response and professionalism.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing through visibility patrols, stop-and-search operations, rapid response to distress calls, community collaboration and proactive crime prevention.
