The exercise drew thousands of delegates from across the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Obafemi Hamzat, cabinet members and other party chieftains attended the event. Also present were former Governor Akinwumi Ambode, former Senate Leader Olorunnimbe Mamora, ex-Senator Gbenga Ashafa and members of the Governance Advisory Council led by Prince Tajudeen Olusi.
The congress committee, headed by Stella Okotete and constituted by the party’s National Working Committee, oversaw the process, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitoring proceedings.
Delegates opted for consensus in electing the state executive members, resulting in a smooth and rancour-free exercise. Most of the outgoing executives were returned, except seven who had completed two terms.
Sanwo-Olu described the peaceful conduct of the congress as a reflection of the party’s unity and commitment to progress. He said the outcome strengthened the APC’s position in Lagos ahead of future elections and aligned with the broader vision of President Bola Tinubu.

In his acceptance remarks, Ojelabi thanked party members for their confidence in him and pledged to deepen unity within the party. He urged members to remain focused and committed as the party prepares for upcoming electoral contests.
“The renewal of this mandate comes with greater responsibility,” he said, calling on members to build a stronger structure and expand the party’s reach across communities.
The congress reaffirmed the APC’s dominance in Lagos politics, with party leaders describing the state as a stronghold of progressive politics in Nigeria.
