Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has sworn in 16 newly appointed commissioners, charging them to deliver impactful governance and resist pressure from associates seeking personal favours.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the ceremony took place on Monday in Akure, the state capital, as the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustainable development over quick fixes.

“The people of Ondo State expect nothing but the best from us, having entrusted us with an overwhelming mandate,” Aiyedatiwa said. “We must strive to deliver on all our electioneering promises.”
He urged the new commissioners to hit the ground running, adding that only excellent service would be tolerated.
“We have proven within the first 100 days of our administration that slow and steady wins the race,” he stated.

Aiyedatiwa warned the families and associates of the commissioners against mounting pressure or lobbying for undue favours, insisting that governance must remain transparent and accountable.
“Our administration is committed to integrity, transparency, accountability, and excellent service. We enjoin the new appointees to key fully into these values toward developing a more virile and prosperous Ondo State,” he said.
The governor added that his government is building on inherited development projects and initiating new ones. He also cited proactive engagements with credible investors that are yielding positive economic outcomes.
The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, described the appointments as a move toward inclusive and people-centred governance.
“This is a call to impactful service,” Fasoranti said. “The people of Ondo State are watching, and we expect nothing less than performance and accountability.”
Speaking on behalf of the commissioners, Mr. Segun Omoyofunmi thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve, pledging to work diligently to advance the state’s development agenda.
