In a statement released on Sunday, Sanwo-Olu extended his congratulations to APC candidates, party leaders, stakeholders, and loyal supporters for the overwhelming success at the polls, saying the win reflects the trust and confidence Lagosians have in the party’s vision.
The APC secured wins across the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LGAs and LCDAs), solidifying its dominance at the grassroots level.
Sanwo-Olu congratulated all newly elected chairmen and councillors, urging them to see their mandate as a call to deliver selfless, accountable, and inclusive governance.

The Governor also extended an olive branch to party members who did not emerge as candidates, acknowledging their commitment to the democratic process and encouraging them to continue contributing to the party’s progress.
“In every contest, there must be winners and others. But within the APC, we must always prioritize unity above personal ambition. That is the only way to sustain our legacy of service and success,” Sanwo-Olu noted.
Calling for unity, reconciliation, and humility in victory, he urged the new local government leaders to govern beyond party lines, serving all residents with fairness and compassion.
Sanwo-Olu also praised the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for conducting a peaceful and credible election, and commended security agencies for maintaining order during the voting process.
He expressed deep appreciation to the citizens of Lagos for turning out peacefully and reinforcing democratic ideals.
“As the new local government administrations prepare to take office, I reaffirm my commitment to work closely with them to drive development to all parts of our state. Together, we will ensure that no community is left behind in our journey toward a Greater Lagos,” the Governor concluded.
