The Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom, Oba (Tpl) AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa, has extended warm congratulations to HRM Oba (Dr) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, on his appointment as the 6th Chancellor of Lagos State University.

Eko Hot Blog reports that in a goodwill message issued on behalf of the Orijeru throne and the entire people of Igbooye Kingdom, the monarch described the appointment as “a fitting recognition of outstanding leadership qualities, intellectual depth, and a lifelong commitment to education and societal development.”
He noted that the elevation of Oba Ogunsanwo to the prestigious academic office is a moment of pride not only for Ilara Kingdom but for the entire traditional institution within Lagos State.
According to him, “this honour reflects the confidence reposed in our traditional rulers as key contributors to nation-building and the advancement of education in our state.”
Oba AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa further stated that “the Alara’s wealth of experience, exposure, and visionary leadership will undoubtedly add value to the growth and global standing of Lagos State University.”
He added that the appointment represents a bridge between traditional heritage and modern academic excellence.
The Orijeru also offered prayers for the new Chancellor, saying, “we pray that Almighty God grants him wisdom, strength, sound health, and divine guidance as he undertakes this noble responsibility for the progress of the university community.”
