The initiative, according to organisers, is one he has consistently promoted across the districts he has served, with this edition marking the second he is hosting in District III.
The table tennis competition featured 11 contestants, including notable participants such as the Chief of Staff of Epe Local Government. The matches were keenly contested, drawing cheers and applause from spectators.
At the end of the competition, Mr. Yisau emerged as the overall winner, while Mr. Ayuba secured the second position.
All participants were rewarded with cash prizes, while special prizes were presented to the top two winners in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Chairman of the Lagos State Public Service Club, Epe Branch, the Director of Special Duties, and several prominent personalities from the education and public service sectors, all of whom commended Osinaike for his impactful career and thoughtful initiative.
Speaking at the event, Osinaike appreciated the support and participation of all attendees.
“I am deeply grateful to everyone who came out to support this initiative. This is not just a celebration of my retirement, but a moment to appreciate the journey and the people who made it worthwhile,” he said.
Beyond the sporting activities, the celebration also placed strong emphasis on academic excellence.
Prizes were presented to schools that distinguished themselves in quiz competitions organized by the AEI Academic Excellence Initiative, Epe Unit, as part of activities marking the retirement celebration.
The academic contests, which included the Best Brains Competition and the Young Managers Quiz, showcased the intellectual capacity of students across the division. Government College, Ketu, clinched the junior category, while Epe Grammar School emerged winner in the senior category.
Second and third place winners in both categories were also duly recognized and rewarded.
In a remarkable show of appreciation for the teaching profession, Osinaike rewarded teachers present at the event with cash gifts.
“Teachers remain the backbone of our education system, and it is important that we continue to appreciate and support their efforts,” he added.
Participants and guests described the event as both celebratory and impactful, noting that it successfully combined recreation with recognition of excellence in education.
The event served as a fitting and memorable prelude to his retirement, celebrating not just the end of a distinguished public service career, but also a legacy of commitment to education, mentorship, and community development.
