- By-Election Results Signal Strong Support for President Tinubu – Lagos APC
- Oladejo stated that the electorate’s decision at the polls sends a strong message to political opponents
- Laud INEC for its role in organising the polls
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the outcome of the recent by-elections held in Rivers State, Kano State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a clear expression of public confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s spokesman in Lagos, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the APC said the electoral victories recorded by its candidates amount to a “referendum” on the leadership style and policy direction of the President.

The statement, titled “The results of the by-elections as a referendum on Tinubu Presidency,” argued that the results reflect growing support for the government’s reform agenda and governance priorities.
According to the party, voters demonstrated approval of what it described as bold economic reforms, infrastructural development efforts and ongoing institutional strengthening across the country.
The APC maintained that the outcome of the elections in the affected constituencies reinforces confidence in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, insisting that Nigerians are beginning to recognise the impact of its policies at both federal and state levels.
Oladejo stated that the electorate’s decision at the polls sends a strong message to political opponents, adding that the results show that voters prioritise performance over rhetoric.
He said the party believes the by-election outcomes demonstrate that Nigerians are responding positively to what it called decisive leadership and long-term reforms, despite criticism from opposition parties.

The statement also took a swipe at the opposition, accusing it of relying heavily on social media activism rather than presenting alternative policy proposals. According to the APC, the results indicate that online political engagement does not always translate into votes.
The party further suggested that the outcome of the by-elections could be an early indicator of political momentum ahead of future national contests, while stressing that it remains focused on governance rather than campaign rhetoric.
Commending the conduct of the elections, the APC praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its role in organising the polls. It also acknowledged the security agencies for what it described as professionalism and efforts to maintain peace during the electoral process.
The party extended appreciation to its members, campaign teams and supporters, crediting grassroots mobilisation and internal discipline for the electoral performance.
Reaffirming its commitment to democratic principles, the APC said the victories represent not just political gains, but a renewed responsibility to deliver development and democratic dividends to citizens.
