The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a schoolteacher, Stella Nwadigo, following allegations of assaulting a three-year-old pupil, Abayomi Michael, at Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu.
The arrest came after a viral video surfaced online, showing Nwadigo mistreating the toddler.

The footage triggered widespread outrage on social media, with many demanding immediate action against the teacher.
Confirming the development on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated, “The teacher has been taken into custody and is currently undergoing investigation. Further necessary actions will follow to ensure justice is served.”
Advocacy groups and concerned citizens have called for stricter oversight and penalties for educators involved in child abuse.
Parents and guardians of pupils at Christ-Mitots School have expressed deep concern over the incident. Some are reportedly demanding a thorough review of the school’s policies and staff conduct to prevent a recurrence.
