This marks the third high-level gathering by party leaders this week, as efforts intensify to address lingering internal disagreements. Central to discussions is the proposed national convention put forward by the caretaker committee headed by Abdulrahman Mohamed.

Sources within the party say reconciliation between the opposing factions remains a key focus.
At an earlier meeting on Wednesday, Turaki reiterated his group’s readiness to engage in peace talks, noting that negotiations had begun to yield positive signs.
On its part, the caretaker committee aligned with Nyesom Wike has also indicated openness to dialogue. However, it maintains that the planned national convention scheduled for March 29 and 30 must proceed as part of the terms for resolving the dispute.

Prominent figures attending the ongoing meeting include former governors Babangida Aliyu and Ibrahim Shekarau, as well as former Information Minister Jerry Gana.
In his opening remarks, Turaki informed members that Seyi Makinde would not be present due to prior commitments, while noting that the Bauchi State governor was expected to join later.
He added that more details on reconciliation efforts would be discussed behind closed doors, expressing confidence that ongoing engagements would help resolve the crisis and strengthen the party ahead of upcoming elections.
