EKO HOT BLOG reports that the show of unity is expected to continue through a series of high-level solidarity meetings scheduled to take place in Abuja over the coming days. The National Organizing Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan, said the mobilised groups include state chairmen, National Assembly caucuses, National Ex-Officio members, and forums of former governors, ministers, and past NWC members.
According to the schedule released by the party, the NWC will on Wednesday hold separate engagements with PDP state chairmen, members of the House of Representatives, and National Ex-Officio members. On December 16, former governors, former ministers, and former NWC officials will meet with the new leadership, while the Senate Caucus will hold its session on December 17.
Shan described the meetings as essential to “the consolidating efforts of the newly elected NWC to stabilize and chart a new course for the party flowing from the successful conduct of the just concluded 2025 elective National Convention of the party in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.”
During Wednesday’s engagement, the NWC will formally present the Certificate of Return to Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, confirming him as the PDP candidate for the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026.
In a separate development, the party has set up a 24-member Osun State Governorship Appeal Panel to review all petitions arising from the recently concluded primary election ahead of the 2026 poll. The panel will be chaired by the National Chairman, Tanimu Turaki, with Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja serving as secretary.
The appeal panel will sit on December 11, 2025, at the Bauchi Governors Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja. The party directed the members to be guided strictly by the PDP Constitution (2025 as amended), the Electoral Guidelines for Party Primary, and the Electoral Act of 2022.
