The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a man, Stanley Okirie, in the Akute area of the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspects, identified as Maureen Okirie, Salia Karikari, and Jubril Karikari, were apprehended following a tip-off about suspicious activities in the area.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, detectives who responded to the alert caught one of the suspects attempting to bury a blood-soaked body in a shallow grave, suspected to be an effort to conceal the crime.
Preliminary examination revealed that the victim sustained a severe head injury.

Police investigations indicate that the deceased was allegedly attacked with a wooden pestle, while the other suspects, said to be relatives of the victim, were involved in the act and the attempted cover-up.
The suspected weapon has been recovered, while the body has been deposited at a mortuary for autopsy.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation and possible prosecution.
