Hundeyin revealed that Ihebinike had approached the POS operator for a transaction with fake N1,000 notes to the tune of N90,000.
However, the operator was vigilant and noticed that the notes were fake, calling the attention of the police to the matter.
The police spokesperson added that investigation in the case is ongoing.
“A vigilant POS operator raised the alarm after a customer, Linda Ihebinike, attempted carrying out a transaction with fake N1000 notes to the tune of N90,000,” Hundeyin said on X.
“Investigation is ongoing.”
In a related development, a crane operator in Lagos is facing life in prison after a cable drum being lifted fell off its hook and fell on a passerby, killing him instantly.
The police spokesperson in the state said the crane operator failed to enact standard safety measures to prevent a passerby from being affected by a potential fail, making him liable for a negligent act.
He is expected to face charges bordering on involuntary manslaughter.
“The operator of this crane will likely spend life in prison. He did not put any warning or danger sign around the crane as he worked. Neither did he station anyone to ward off passersby,” Hundeyin wrote on X on Sunday.
“A passerby who was engrossed with his phone approached. By an unfortunate twist of fate, the cable drum being lifted fell off its hook and fell on the passerby, killing him instantly.
