Governor Okpebholo emphasized that the recruitment is not just a job but a “chance for young Edo people to build disciplined and purposeful careers.”
To facilitate this, a specialized sensitization team from the Nigerian Army will be active across the state for one week, starting Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
This team is tasked with guiding applicants through the rigors of the recruitment process and ensuring that prospective soldiers from Edo State are well-prepared for the intake.
The Governor’s call to action extended beyond the youths themselves, reaching out to the foundational pillars of Edo society.

The statement urged parents, guardians, traditional rulers, and community leaders to play an active role in mobilizing eligible candidates.
By encouraging participation across Edo North, Edo Central, and Edo South, the government aims to significantly improve the state’s representation within the military and ensure it fills its allocated national quota.
Prospective applicants are directed to the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal to review eligibility criteria and application procedures.
The state government further advised candidates to ensure all necessary documentation is complete and ready before heading to the designated sensitization centers.
This proactive approach reflects the administration’s broader commitment to creating diverse career paths for the youth while strengthening the state’s contribution to national defense.
