- Police Drag Three to Court Over Alleged N11.4m Car Scam

The Police on Friday arraigned three men before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over the alleged theft and fraud of N11.4 million.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the defendants, identified as John Zinsu, 43; Koleoso Olamide, 45; and Oyinlola Saheed, 37, are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretence and stealing.

According to the prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, the offences were allegedly committed within the Yaba Magisterial District of Lagos State.
Ikhayere told the court that the defendants conspired with others still at large to obtain N11.4 million from the complainant, identified simply as Idiahi.
She alleged that the suspects collected the money under the pretence of selling a grey 2013 Toyota Camry to the complainant.
The prosecutor further stated that after receiving the money, the defendants allegedly failed to deliver the vehicle and also refused to refund the amount paid, converting the money to personal use instead.

According to her, the offences contravene Sections 287, 314 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate L.A. Owolabi granted each of the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until June 30 for mention.
