According to Oluseyi, intelligence reports revealed that the group had concluded plans to unveil a supposed ₦1.5 billion “Palace of Obi of Lagos State” on Saturday at Apple Hall, Amuwo Odofin.
“Acting on the information, the police promptly sealed off the venue to forestall any breach of peace and to protect unsuspecting members of the public from being misled,” Oluseyi said.
He explained that the command deployed conventional operatives, Eko Strike Force teams, and tactical squads to prevent the event from holding.
The suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue. The police said findings would be made public and the accused charged to court.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, warned residents to remain vigilant against impostors exploiting traditional and cultural institutions.
“Such actions are unlawful, contrary to Lagos State statutes, and capable of breaching public peace,” he said.
The police assured that the command would continue to enforce the law “firmly and decisively” against acts undermining legality, order, and the integrity of the state.
