Tinubu made this statement on Wednesday during the commissioning of several road projects in Abuja executed by the FCT administration.
“We have somebody in Nyesom Wike. He is not a member of my party, not yet, but the day he changes his mind and registers with the progressives, we will welcome you,” President Tinubu said.
Among the road projects commissioned are the Maitama-Gishiri Bridge and several key link roads in Katampe, Jahi, and Mabushi.
President Bola Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, emphasizing that projects will continue regardless of opposition criticism.
Meanwhile, Segun Sowunmi, a senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has suggested he may leave the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sowunmi, a former PDP governorship candidate in Ogun State, stated that he could consider defecting if supporting President Tinubu in the 2027 election requires it.
