‘You Have No Time To Settle Down’ – Rivers Administrator Ibas Tells New SSG

Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (rtd), has directed the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, to immediately get to work.
Ibas issued the directive on Wednesday night during Worika’s inauguration at the Executive Chambers of the Government House.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Congratulating Worika, Ibas described his appointment as more than just an administrative decision but a statement of intent.
He emphasized the need for urgency, stressing that the new SSG’s expertise in law, policy, and international governance aligns with the administration’s mission to restore law, order, and public trust in Rivers State.
“The task ahead is enormous, but your track record leaves no doubt that you will deliver. Rivers State needs your intellect, grit, and unwavering dedication,” Ibas stated.
He further reiterated that his administration is focused on effective governance built on transparency, accountability, and service delivery. He urged Worika to work closely with civil servants, as their cooperation would be crucial in ensuring smooth governance.
“Every policy, decision, and action must align with our mandate to restore law and order, stabilize the polity, and create conditions for democratic institutions to thrive,” Ibas added.

He also called on permanent secretaries and other civil servants to support the administration in achieving its objectives.
