Danilo officially parted ways with Juventus on Monday after the Brazilian defender and the Serie A club mutually agreed to terminate his contract.
“Danilo Luiz da Silva and Juventus have parted ways after five and a half years together, following a mutual termination of the player’s contract,” read a statement from Juventus.

The 33-year-old departs after making 213 appearances for the Turin side, during which he won one Serie A title, two Italian Cups, and one Italian Super Cup.
According to Italian media, Danilo is set to return to Brazil on a two-year deal with Flamengo, as his contract with Juventus was originally due to expire at the end of the season.

Taking to Instagram, Danilo expressed his emotions, saying, “I knew this day would come sooner or later, but you’re never ready to say goodbye.”
His departure comes after falling out of favour under new coach Thiago Motta, who arrived in the summer, and losing the captaincy to Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli.

Meanwhile, Juventus welcomed Portugal defender Renato Veiga, who arrived in Turin on Monday for a medical ahead of a loan move from Chelsea. The signing comes as a response to fellow Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer being sidelined for the season with a knee injury.
Juventus currently sit fifth in Serie A, just two points shy of the Champions League spots, and are set to face Benfica in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
