Somolu GH Calls on SGBV Victims to Break the Silence

Published

on

Lagos State Government has emphasized the importance of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) victims speaking out to access necessary support, rather than suffering in silence.

Dr. Mustapha Quadri, the Medical Director and CEO of Somolu General Hospital, delivered this message to patients and the general public during a recent awareness campaign.

The hospital’s social welfare department spearheaded the initiative, taking to the streets of Somolu to spread the word about the dangers and consequences of SGBV.

As part of the campaign, the team distributed informative flyers to residents and passersby, covering major streets like Durosinmi, Oguntolu, and Bailey.

To ensure their message resonated deeply, they communicated in local languages, urging the community to encourage victims to share their stories.

This year’s campaign is aligned with the theme: “Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Not On My Watch, Not in My Lagos!”
