According to a formal press statement issued by his media directorate from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the number of registered personnel far exceeded the organization’s initial benchmark projection of 50,000 operatives.
Igboho noted that since the formal activation of the Iru Ekun Security Network, agrarian communities and highway corridors that were previously under severe siege by armed criminal syndicates have experienced a visible, significant drop in abduction incidents.
To maintain institutional discipline, the network’s command structure is currently subjecting all 80,000 registered applicants to rigorous background checks and security vetting processes to explicitly prevent criminals or fifth columnists from infiltrating its operational ranks.
Building on its initial momentum, the security outfit has systematically established its presence within the core states of the South-West region.
Having fully operationalized its structures in Oyo and Osun states, the leadership announced that it has perfected all necessary administrative arrangements to launch the network in Kwara State.
The expansion will feature strategic partnerships with critical regional political stakeholders, including Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to ensure seamless border patrols and inter-state intelligence sharing.
Crucially, the outfit stressed that its operations are being carried out in strict accordance with the laws of the federation, leaning heavily on robust intelligence gathering and tactical coordination with conventional national security networks.
