The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Morocco as preparations intensify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The players and coaching crew travelled from Egypt, where they had been based in Cairo following Tuesday’s international friendly against the Egyptian national team. With that fixture concluded, focus has now shifted fully to the continental tournament in North Africa.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that on arrival in Morocco, the Nigerian delegation made a strong cultural statement. The players stepped out in coordinated deep green traditional attire, wearing short sleeved tunics with detailed embroidery, paired with matching tailored trousers.
Native caps made from the same fabric completed the outfit, while footwear varied between leather slip ons and casual trainers.
Confirming the team’s arrival, Super Eagles media officer, Promise Efoghe, said, “The Super Eagles have touched down in Fes, Morocco.”
Nigeria joins several African teams already in the host country. South Africa, Comoros, Mali and Zimbabwe arrived earlier in the week, while Benin Republic and Senegal have also settled in as the tournament countdown continues.
The Super Eagles have been drawn in Group C, where they will face Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda in the group stage. The three time African champions are regarded as one of the teams to watch, having narrowly missed out on the title at the last edition after a 2 1 defeat to hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final.
Nigeria will begin their campaign against Tanzania on December 23 at the Fez Stadium in Fes. A key clash against Tunisia follows on December 26, before the final group match against Uganda on December 30.

At the end of the group stage, the top two teams from each group will qualify automatically for the round of 16, alongside four best placed third ranked teams.
