EKO HOT BLOG reports that the match will be played on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, with kick off scheduled for 9 pm local time.
The game is being staged through a joint collaboration between the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Argentine Football Association, while Qatar’s Local Organising Committee for football events will handle delivery of the fixture.
UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin said the match reflects football’s global appeal and the strong relationship between the two confederations.
“The Finalissima brings together two continental champions in one of football’s most prestigious occasions, highlighting the game’s truly global reach and the enduring bond between our confederations. We look forward to a memorable night of world class football and celebration,” Čeferin said.
The Finalissima will be played over 90 minutes, with no extra time. If the match ends in a draw, the winner will be decided by a penalty shoot out.
Match officials will be appointed jointly by UEFA and CONMEBOL, while VAR, goal line technology and semi automated offside technology will be in use.
Beyond the match itself, the fixture reflects the expanding partnership between UEFA and CONMEBOL, which now covers women’s football, futsal and youth competitions, as well as referee exchanges and technical development programmes.

The collaboration follows a renewed and extended Memorandum of Understanding signed by both confederations in December 2021.
