Former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, did not show up at his polling unit on Saturday to vote in the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections, despite expectations that he would appear alongside his wife, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that throughout the duration of the election, which began at 8:00 a.m. and ended at 3:00 p.m. Fashola was not seen at the polling unit.

This marks the second consecutive local council election Fashola has missed, having also been absent during the 2021 exercise.
Journalists who arrived at the polling unit as early as 8:19 a.m., when the election began, waited several hours in anticipation of his arrival. While some eventually left, others stayed until voting concluded, hoping he might appear.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, voting at Polling Unit 002, located at State Junior Grammar School (Special), Itolo Street, Eric Moore, Surulere, began at 8:19 a.m. when election officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) arrived to set up.
Although 1,355 voters were registered at the unit, only 213 people turned out to vote.
