BREAKING: Tinubu Submits NWDC Board Nominees To Senate For Confirmation
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the names of the inaugural Governing Board members for the North West Development Commission (NWDC) to the Senate for confirmation.
This was revealed in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the creation of the NWDC followed Tinubu’s signing of the North West Development Commission Bill into law on July 24, marking a key step in the Commission’s establishment.
The nominated board members are expected to leverage their experience to fulfill the Commission’s mandate of driving economic growth and social development in the North-West region. The statement emphasized President Tinubu’s dedication to ensuring sustainable development in the area through the NWDC.
The board nominees are:
- Chairman: Ambassador Haruna Ginsau (Jigawa)
- MD/CEO: Professor Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji (Kano)
Board Members:
- Dr. Yahaya Umar Namahe (Sokoto)
- Hon. Aminu Suleiman (Kebbi)
- Sen. Tijani Yahaya Kaura (Zamfara)
- Hon. Abdulkadir S. Usman (Kaduna)
- Hon. Engr. Muhammad Ali Wudil (Kano)
- Shamsu Sule (Katsina)
- Nasidi Ali (Jigawa)
The NWDC will focus on fostering development and economic empowerment in the North-West region, a priority of President Tinubu’s administration.
