President Bola Tinubu has summoned the immediate past Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Ibas arrived at the State House around 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday dressed in brown native attire, was accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukayede.

Earlier, Edun had briefly entered the Villa before leaving, only to return with a file in hand, underscoring the gravity of the meeting.
Ibas ceased to function as administrator of the oil-rich state on September 17, when the six-month emergency rule ended. President Tinubu subsequently directed suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and members of the state House of Assembly to resume office.

Shortly after resumption, the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, resolved to probe state expenditure under the emergency rule, particularly contracts and spending from the consolidated revenue fund.
Ibas, however, had previously dismissed the decision to investigate his administration’s financial activities.
Records show that Rivers State received at least N254.37 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) between March and August 2025 during Ibas’ tenure as sole administrator.
