- Olujimi says Tinubu’s APC is different from Buhari’s era.
- She joined APC due to government’s pragmatic and firm decisions.
- Olujimi insists PDP has lost grassroots support and direction.
FormerDeputy Governor of Ekiti State, Senator Biodun Olujimi, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) under President Bola Tinubu is markedly different from the one led by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Olujimi, who recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling APC, disclosed that the visible shift in governance style and policy direction under Tinubu convinced her to make the switch. She made this known during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday.
According to the former senator, the Tinubu administration is demonstrating a pragmatic and resolute approach to governance, particularly in the way it implements tough decisions and sticks with them, even in the face of public pressure.
“The APC we criticised in the past was under a different leadership. What we have now is a new APC,” she said. “This government is taking tough decisions and not backing down when there’s discomfort. They are taking the bull by the horns and following through.”
Olujimi emphasized that her defection was not based on political favour but on the conviction that the current administration is committed to meaningful change.
She acknowledged the PDP as the platform that brought her to political prominence but insisted the party has lost touch with grassroots realities and direction. According to her, many of her supporters in Ekiti State welcomed her move to the APC.

The former lawmaker added that it was more honourable to leave the PDP than to remain and work against it from within.
