The former president of the Nigerian community in the UK, Benjamin Kuti, made the desperate situation public via his official account on X on Sunday.
Kuti emphasized that the affected family is undergoing a critical immigration phase that leaves them completely ineligible to receive state welfare or public funds from the British government.

The online fundraiser seeks to pull together resources to offset immediate medical costs and expedite the replacement of their destroyed travel credentials.
Out of a set funding milestone of £5,500, sympathetic donors have successfully raised £1,703 at the time of filing this report.
