Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement shared on Wednesday, Trump explained that the price increased from an original $200 million estimate because the facility was significantly upgraded following “deep-rooted studies”.

He noted that the revised project is approximately double the size and of far higher quality than what was initially proposed.
Trump emphasized that the original design would not have been adequate for high-level national events, official meetings, or future inaugurations. He described the new facility as “magnificent, safe, and secure”.
Furthermore, the President pushed back against media reports of financial mismanagement, accusing “Fake News” outlets of misrepresenting the necessary design changes as mere cost overruns.

According to the President, the construction is moving quickly and is currently both ahead of its scheduled timeline and under the updated budget.
