Two security operatives were injured following an improvised explosive device explosion in Orsu Local Government Area.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the incident occurred on March 18 at about 8:35 a.m. during a joint security operation involving troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade, according to security sources.
The operatives were said to be combing suspected criminal hideouts in the Orsu axis when the explosion occurred.
Sources told counter insurgency publication, Zagazola Makama, that the team was operating in areas believed to be linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network.
During the operation, one of the personnel reportedly stepped on a concealed pressure activated improvised explosive device, which detonated instantly.
The blast left two operatives injured.
They were immediately given first aid at the scene before being evacuated to a medical facility for further treatment.
