The Vice President emphasized that Senator Wadada, a technocrat with a robust background in the banking industry, possesses the necessary character and competence to maintain the state’s developmental momentum.
Addressing a diverse audience of investors, traditional rulers, and political leaders, Shettima prayed for Wadada’s success, stating that the senator “has his job cut out” to ensure that the progress initiated by Engineer A.A. Sule survives the transition.
A central theme of the summit, titled “Bold Transitions, Building a Legacy for a Sustainable Future,” was the institutionalization of economic reforms.

To this end, the “Lafia Declaration” was launched, a collective pledge by political parties, the legislature, judiciary, and development partners to honor existing contracts and policies regardless of future leadership changes.
Shettima concluded by noting that the greatest gift a leader can leave is the certainty of progress, framing continuity as Nigeria’s ultimate competitive advantage.
