The convener, Comrade Habu Adamu, who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Matters, revealed that the movement is a response to the Governor’s transformative leadership style and developmental achievements across the state.
Speaking during a press briefing attended by representatives from the seven local government areas comprising Yobe East, Adamu emphasized that the district requires a representative with Buni’s “vast experience and leadership skills” to advance its interests at the federal level.
“His achievements and dedication to the development of Yobe State have inspired us,” Adamu stated. “We strongly believe that his experience is still needed to move our people forward.
As a demonstration of our commitment, we are ready to obtain the nomination form for him and support him throughout the entire process.”
The movement aims to serve as a central platform to unite the various political interests within Yobe East.
Supporters believe that Buni’s inclusive approach to governance makes him the most viable candidate to provide a strong voice for the region in the National Assembly.
While Governor Buni has yet to issue an official response to the “Team Mai Mala” call, the enthusiasm shown by the youth wing suggests a significant groundswell of support.
