The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Wednesday announced the arrest of a man identified as Yahaya Saleh for allegedly attempting to secure the release of a suspected kidnapper currently under investigation.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, it was revealed that Yahaya tried to bribe police investigators with ₦1.5 million to influence the case and unlawfully free the suspect from custody.

According to the police, Yahaya approached the officers handling the case and offered the money in an attempt to compromise the investigation.

Adeh noted that the officers rejected the bribe and immediately took the appropriate legal steps, resulting in Yahaya’s arrest.
She further stated that investigations are ongoing to track down other individuals linked to the criminal group.
