According to the former senator, he had asked Tinubu how he intended to manage Nigeria’s economy with “over 40 ministers” if elected president.
“I asked him, ‘You are going to have 36 ministers and ministers of state. How are you going to run the economy with over 40 people you don’t even know?’” he recalled.
Murray-Bruce said Tinubu responded confidently, telling him, “I only need eight people to run Nigeria.”
He praised the president for following through on his promises, especially on economic reforms.

“He chose the right people, and they have made a difference to the economy. He also shocked me on his first day in office when he said he would deregulate and float the currency,” he said.
The former lawmaker added that two years after their conversation, President Tinubu had done exactly what he said he would.
Murray-Bruce, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissed opposition criticisms, saying the president has remained consistent in his policies and leadership approach.
