The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of the screening exercise for aspirants ahead of its 2025 Elective National Convention.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the screening, initially scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, was suspended due to unforeseen circumstances. This was contained in a statement on Monday signed by the Chairman of the PDP National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) and Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri.

Fintiri stated that a new date for the exercise would be announced soon, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused by the delay.
He reaffirmed the party’s readiness to conduct a transparent and credible convention in Ibadan on November 15 and 16.
“The National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has decided to put on hold the screening of aspirants for the 2025 Elective National Convention, earlier scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, due to unforeseen circumstances,” the statement read.

“A new date will be communicated in due course. The committee regrets any inconveniences caused and assures that all aspirants and members will be duly informed.
“The NCOC remains committed to delivering a credible and hitch-free 2025 Elective National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, between Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16, 2025.”
