In a tribute shared on his official Instagram page, Adeboye reflected on the evangelist’s lifetime of service, highlighting his devotion to spreading the gospel and touching countless lives through his ministry.
“Earlier today, I paid a condolence visit to the residence of my dear friend and brother, Reverend Uma Ukpai, who has gone to be with the Lord,” Adeboye wrote. “Reverend Uma Ukpai was not just a minister of the gospel; he was a true general in the army of our God — a man of unshakable faith, quiet strength, and uncommon humility. His life was a living sermon, one that spoke louder than words — a story of service, of love for God’s people, and of steadfast devotion to the Kingdom.”
Adeboye further said that Reverend Ukpai had fulfilled his divine calling and was now resting in eternal peace. “He has fought the good fight. He has finished his course. And now, he rests in the everlasting arms of the Almighty, where there is no more pain, no more striving — only peace, joy, and glory,” he added.
The RCCG leader also offered heartfelt condolences to the widow, Pastor Philomena Ukpai, and the entire Ukpai family, praying for divine comfort during their time of grief.
“To his beloved wife, Pastor Philomena Ukpai, and the entire Ukpai family, we extend our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies. May the Lord Himself wrap you in His unfailing love, comfort your hearts, and strengthen you in this valley of loss,” Adeboye said.

Concluding his tribute, Pastor Adeboye noted that his late friend had not truly died but had “changed address,” moving from the field of battle to the presence of his Commander-in-Chief. “He is home. He is at rest. He is in the arms of God Almighty,” he stated.
