The Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. Tunde Azeez, popularly known as Disco, has officially resigned from office, citing ongoing health challenges that have affected his ability to effectively discharge his duties.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a resolution passed by the legislative arm of the council, the house acknowledged Hon. Azeez’s dedication to public service and commended his contributions to the development of Agege Local Government. Lawmakers also wished him a speedy recovery and success in his future endeavours.

According to the house, Azeez’s resignation highlights the importance of prioritising personal health and well-being, even in the pursuit of public duty.

After thorough deliberation, the council unanimously accepted his resignation with immediate effect, paving the way for a new phase of leadership within the local government.
To ensure continuity in governance and service delivery, the house unanimously approved Hon. AbdulGaniyu Vinod Obasa as the new Chairman of Agege Local Government.
However reactions has trailed the announcement on Facebook within minutes of the announcement:
“Wayo wayo government we de ooo — mission accomplished!” wrote Aminu Jubril, capturing the sentiment of suspicion shared by many.
“That’s why the area is called Agege — the dribbler,” added Yusuf Olamilekan Adediran.
The decision, according to the council, reflects its commitment to stability, seamless governance, and continued dedication to the welfare of residents.
