In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Operations, Mohammed Liman, the Commission confirmed that all Returning Officers had completed the collation and declaration of results in line with the state’s Electoral Law and NSIEC’s operational procedures.

“After thorough verification, the Commission approved and ratified the results, confirming the duly elected chairmen and councillors who met all legal and procedural requirements,” Liman stated.
According to the released results, APC candidates won in all 25 Local Government Areas, including Agaie, Bida, Kontagora, Lapai, Bosso, Chanchaga, Wushishi, and several others.
Among the newly elected chairmen are Sayuti Ibrahim Halilu (Agaie), Usman Mohammed (Bida), Mustapha Jibrin (Chanchaga), Lawal Yusuf (Kontagora), and Mohammed Lokogoma (Wushishi).

The results reflected wide margins between APC and opposition parties in most local governments. For instance, in Bosso, APC secured 29,140 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had 6,039. Similar outcomes were recorded in Gbako (32,310 for APC vs 7,363 for PDP), Suleja (61,877 for APC vs 1,146 for SDP), and Lapai (43,604 for APC vs 2,639 for SDP and 1,429 for PDP).
In Bida, APC polled 40,868 votes ahead of PDP’s 8,386, while in Chanchaga, the ruling party recorded 25,340 votes, with PDP, SDP, and the Labour Party trailing at 10,216, 1,137, and 313 votes respectively.
Across the northern zone of the state, APC maintained strong leads in several councils, including Kontagora (25,154 vs 7,164 PDP), Borgu (44,248 vs 3,172 PDP), and Mariga (25,485 vs 6,662 PDP). Other notable results include Lavun (53,257 vs 1,340 PDP), Mokwa (27,100 vs 11,210 PDP), and Edati (20,414 vs 8,553 PDP).
For the councillorship elections, NSIEC confirmed the results from all 274 wards. APC won 271 seats, while the PDP secured two seats — one each in Tafa and Rafi Local Government Areas.

Liman congratulated the winners and encouraged them to uphold transparency, accountability, and dedication in serving their communities.
He also commended security agencies, political parties, election observers, the media, and voters for contributing to the smooth conduct of the polls.
NSIEC announced that Certificates of Return would be issued to the newly elected officials as scheduled, with stakeholders to be informed of the official presentation date.
